Question Time with Oaks Christian School No.7: Which is your favourite book of the Bible?

In the seventh video question from The Oaks Christian School, Cameron asks John Cross which is his favourite book of the Bible. John shares that the Gospel of John is his favourite (among many!) because the Apostle John wrote his gospel so that people may come to believe that Jesus is the Saviour.

The Apostle John wrote:

…but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. (John 20:31 ESV)

All eyes on Brazil

Brazil flag

All eyes were on Brazil as everyone supported their soccer/football team during this year’s World Cup.

Heaven continues to watch and cheer, but for quite another reason. Brazilian people are understanding and trusting Jesus Christ as their saviour!

“Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Luke 15:10 ESV

A missionary in Brazil wrote a little note of encouragement, telling how she has been using The Lamb in her ministry to children:

Thank you again for The Lamb book which you might remember giving to me a few years ago… What a great tool for sharing the gospel and creating conversation about Jesus. I have recently read it with three young friends here who all loved it. One asked to borrow the book after we were finished and read the whole thing out loud to her parents! My mom is also using The Lamb as a discipleship tool with a newly-saved mom of three young children. I found that The Lamb is now available in Portuguese as O Cordeiro. Last summer, I took a few copies to use in Brazil and then to leave with churches and children’s workers there. So glad you introduced me to The Lamb!

We regularly hear stories and testimonies from Brazil of ambassadors of Christ sharing the gospel clearly and people coming to salvation. As the World Cup continues, praise God with us for what he is doing.

Question Time with Oaks Christian School No.5: What is the most important point besides the gospel?

In the fifth video question from The Oaks Christian School, Ben asks John Cross what was the most important point besides the gospel that the video series wanted to convey.

John admits he has no good answer to the question because the sole intention of The Stranger VideoBook was to make the gospel message clear to viewers who had little or no knowledge of the Bible.

Question Time with Oaks Christian School No.4: Funniest Moment

In our fourth video question from the The Oaks Christian School, Manon asks John Cross about the funniest moment he can remember from the production of The Stranger VideoBook.

John relates that the VideoBook took seven years to produce, with the bulk of the principal shooting done in Papua New Guinea. There on the set, they had an unexpected problem: crickets!

Be sure to watch till the very end of the video where you can see an outtake from the filming!

Question Time with Oaks Christian School No.3: Visual Aids

In our third video question from The Oaks Christian School, Richard asks John Cross about visual aids: Did he enjoy teaching with models and props and where did he get his set?

John explained that when he first taught, he didn’t have visual aids. But in Scripture, God used visual aids to teach people truth. So with the help of his son, John built many models that have proven effective in increasing a student’s understanding. When others started to ask for the visual aids, GoodSeed began to produce them in order to equip those who wanted to use them in their teaching.

Confused over The Stranger, the VideoBook and Worldview Rethink

The Stranger family of toolsQuestion:
I am familiar with The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus. Can you please explain how the VideoBook, the online self-paced course, and Worldview Rethink are different? Is the online course the same as the VideoBook? Is Worldview Rethink the same thing but designed to be lead by a local leader as opposed to John Cross teaching via video? Or am I all confused? :-)

Salvation at a meat plant

Meat worker

Editor’s Note: Many believers find that being an ambassador of Christ involves… building relationships, giving away resources that explain the gospel clearly, and guiding people in a course so that they can understand the message of the Bible for themselves. Kyle* has been doing just that in his work place for the past several years. He wrote recently to share what God has done:

Question Time with Oaks Christian School No.2: Favourite Location in Israel

In our second video question from The Oaks Christian School, Jaylee asks John Cross two questions: Which is his favourite location in Israel and when did he decide to go into full-time ministry. Standing on a lookout above the Sea of Galilee, John points out the town of Capernaum on the northern edge of the lake. To answer both of Jaylee’s questions, he discusses an incident that happened at Capernaum—the story of the royal official from John 4:46-54.
